Still growing!

We are counting down the days - let's see...March 9th is only 9 days away and the late date of March 18th is only 18 days away. All I know is this baby is definately going to be born in March; no February baby for us! I've been loading up on the Evening primrose oil and Raspberry leaf tea, as the EPO is supposed to help in thinning out the cervix in preparation for delivery and the tea for toning the uterine muscles. All midwife approved! Today she showed me some acupressure points on the body that can stimulate labour (the inside web of the hands, inside of the ankle, and the baby toe). It's nice to have some things that I feel I can do that will perhaps aid in the quality of my labour. Our midwife is away on March 9th and March 23-25 so please pray that baby doesn't come on those dates. See you next week!

Due Date Revised - ? weeks to go!

For the last few weeks we haven't had internet at home, so we're sorry for the long wait for those of you who have been anxiously awaiting the next posting!
As for the due date (March 18)...looks like baby may want to come a lot sooner than this. The head "dropped" almost two weeks ago. It was a pain-filled three days while I worried that I was in premature labour. Thankfully it was just the baby's head making it's way down into my pelvis and pushing through the nerves and all that good stuff. Our midwife said that babies are usually born about 4 weeks after they drop down, so that puts our due date closer to March 9th (which was the original due date before the ultrasound).
We're so happy to say that the baby is in the "right" position. It will make for a much easier labour (hopefully). The baby is about 6 pounds now and 18 inches long. The legs are so powerful and at times a foot sticks so far out my side or over top of my ribs that I can almost grab and hold it. We have had a lot of fun making all the preparations for this new person in our household. It's hard to put words to the feeling of anticipation and excitement for what is in store.
For those of you who think we're having a boy (which is 95% of people), our midwife thinks we're having a girl (but she's not clairvoyant or anything, it's just a guess). So, time will tell!
Thanks for all the comments - we love to hear from you! As I grow to gargantuan proportions in these last remaining weeks, we'll try to post every week. -Steph
